All member organizations must be licensed as a Nursing Referral Services Agency in the state of Maryland with the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Office of Health Care Quality.
- Members shall be in good standing in the business community.
- Members shall follow ethical business practices.
- Members shall conduct on-premise interviews of all qualified caregivers.
- Members shall require that caregivers provide the following information during the screening process:
- Appropriate licensing or certification
- Driver’s license or state identification card
- Proof of work authorization (i.e. Social Security card, birth certificate, driver’s license, passport, work permit, etc.)
- Health certification
- Criminal background check
- Employment and character references
- Employment background verification
- Current CPR, if applicable
- Members shall require all caregivers to have had previous health care experience
- Members shall verify all caregivers' certification and licensure.
